i just had another non-paying bidder–seems to be on the rise–so please note–if payment is not received within 24 hours it will be presumed the bidder is agreeing to cancel the bid and i will re-list the item as is allowed under ebay rules–if you intend to bid on this guitar please make sure you have an existing paypal account–it takes per week sometimes to establish one and often i wait the week and then payment never comes–for this reason bidders with less than 10 positive feedback please–as a courtesy–contact me before bidding or i will have to cancel your bid–

before talking about the guitar which i’ve owned for about 15 years and played more than any of my other guitars during that time–please note the following narrative–

this guitar was sold back in December to a great human being who received it and thought the neck was loose–he returned it–since then i’ve had my luthier look at it–restring it and intonate it and everything works perfectly–the neck does not move when gently torgued at the headstock–he thought that the tiny gap visible in one of the last 2 scans might have been there all along–you can see in the last scan that it isn’t visible from most angles–or that in transit during the extreme cold some of the glue might have shrunk enough to fall out–so i am selling this guitar with that in mind–it plays up and down the neck beautifully with no fretting out so i lean toward the latter explanation but bid knowing that the picture in scan eleven is the way the neck meets the body at the heel–for this reason i’ll start the bid at $1 and let the market determine its value

This is a fine looking completely original 1976 Les Paul Standard with the original owner’s proof of purchase card in the original case–i called the guitar “very good” condition but really other than a number of small scratches and a bit wear on the side it is in excellent shape–

It’s been set up for my preferences by my luthier–intonated–cleaned and polished and all the electronics checked–it’s in superb playing condition and the cosmetics speak for themselves in the scans–

anyone looking likely knows that the Standard was discontinued until 1976 so this is the first year of issue for the Standard after many years–they did make a handful in 1975 but most of these are Deluxes routed for humbuckers–of the few original 1975 models you can spend a ton of money to own one–and in truth the 76s are as good if not better guitars because Gibson got the line up and running and got serious about making them again.

The finish is excellent–the original frets excellent–the board excellent and the tuners hold tune for months–the binding is perfect–the hardware excellent and the headstock in great shape with 2 small blemishes on each side where it hung at one point on a wall–all visible in the scans–

Also–there are no bad odors in the case or on the guitar–and even better the guitar is relatively light–it weighs about 9 pounds 7 ounces and it’s the first Standard solid body i’ve owned under 10 pounds–

please ask any questions prior to bidding and i will do my best to answer them–i will be out of town for most of the auction but i believe between the scans and the description there are no secrets–i will ship to Europe but please ask for shipping quotes before placing a bid–i’ll have to open up your country to accept bids and want to screen this process first
shipping is an estimate–if you live on the west coast it will cost less–east coast will cost more but i’ll eat the difference and provide a scan of the original receipt upon request–i will not make money on shipping–ever–

no reserve

i have perfect feedback in over 4500 transactions–all my instruments are completely gone over before i offer them–this one has new strings–a clean and polish and fretboard oiling as well as a setup for my preferences–thank you for looking–the guitar is also for sale locally so this auction may end if sold elsewhere–
